It’s about the dance floor!

We play for many people wanting to celebrate their milestone birthdays- 18th’s to 70th’s. Many of these are themed hoedowns, playing as Swamp Dawkins, because the called dancing is a great way to get people of all ages mixing and we have plenty of other music to keep people on the dance floor but we have a wide repertoire of music to keep people dancing and playing the music that works for any and every crowd.

We have a wide repertoire of songs to keep people entertained all night. From ABBA and Adele to Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash. From Michael Jackson and George Michael to John Mellancamp and Bon Jovi. From Elvis to Powerderfinger.

What sort of parties have we done?

We do a lot of milestone birthdays- 18th’s, 21st’s, 30th’s, 40th’s, 50th’s, 60th’s and 70th’s. (I’m not sure about the apostrophe placement there- what do you think?).

We’ve also done parties for other special events such as one couple who had renovated an historic barn on their property and they wanted to celebrate it’s completion. We had another couple who had a distillery in the southern highlands that they had recently started with the dream of barrelling a whisky to be aged for 20years and celebrated on a 70th birthday- so they had a celebration for the casking of the drop to be popped in 2037!

Many of the parties are bushdance or hoedown themed events but more often than not they also want a good range of other party music aside from the called dancing to keep people entertained all night.

I would like to thank the Swamp Dawkins band for a terrific performance and wonderful co-operation and flexibility during the evening. There are very few bands around that can render sixties, seventies and contemporary popular music and, in addition, can have everyone on the dance floor doing a barn dance– and loving it!
