Welcome to Michael Buining – Musician.

Firstly and most importantly- I am a musician not an agent. So when you book me, or one of my bands to play- you’re dealing direct and I’ll be there playing- making sure that everything we do is right for your event.

Over the years I have developed a number of bands each with a distinct style to suit your event. Each band has its own identity and web presence but are grouped here alongside my other musical projects. These include Swamp Dawkins, The Roadhouse Regulars, and Nashville Nights

Aside from the live performance projects, I am a commissioned songwriter and have recorded several studio albums, receiving extensive radio airplay across Australia.

The success of your event is all that matters.

The majority of events I play for are private bookings- corporate conferences, private parties & weddings- and because of this I am entirely focused on what you need for your event to be a success. This carries over into the public events- pubs & clubs, festivals & community groups- where it is your venue, your patrons and your community is what matters most.

My clients are corporates, private parties, weddings, pubs & clubs, community groups, festivals and more. The music ranges from country themed hoedowns and bushdances, to blues & roots, to iconic Australian rock, to contemporary Top40 pop. The bands range from duos and trios to full 4/5/6 piece bands with different lineups including male & female vocals, dance callers, acoustic & electric guitars, bass, drums, violin, mandolin, harmonica, pedal steel, piano, cello and the occasional lagerphone!

I regularly work with event planners and receive bookings via event managers & agencies (including MG Events, Beyond Events, G8 Productions, OnStage Entertainment, KICK Entertainment, Entertain OZ) but most of my bookings are direct from clients.

And I know how to make your event successful.

Booking bands can be risky- there is a big range in quality of bands out there and the success of your event needs the band to be spot on. I know how to help make your event everything you want it to be.

Dust Your Boots Off with Swamp Dawkins! Called traditional barn, square and bush dances mixed with a repertoire of iconic Australian music and Americana. Four, five, six piece (Singer/ Dance caller, Guitar, Violin, Bass, Drums, Harmonica, Pedal Steel, Accordion). Best suited to: themed corporate events especially staff conferences; weddings in rural settings or with a country theme; milestone birthdays who want everyone dancing and mixing.

THE ROADHOUSE REGULARS | Alternate | Acoustic | Blues & Roots

Album Redemption – The story of the Man, the Woman, the Preacher and the Way out of Town. Three piece blues & roots music with an emphasis on acoustic instrumentation (guitar, harmonica, drums). Repertoire: Mix of originals, blues covers, and rock songs performed in a roots style. Best suited to: Pubs & Clubs for night or afternoon live music; festivals featuring original independent Australian music; corporates requiring relaxed music for client or staff events

You’ve been to Vegas– Now, Come to Nashville! Nashville Nights is a unique project that delivers a themed entertainment for corporate clients. There are plenty of Vegas, Hollywood & Bollywood themed nights for conferences, staff parties and celebrations– but Nashville Nights is a night with a unique difference bringing to life an American themed Hoedown, Rodeo or Cowboy Cowgirl themed night.

A little band with a big sound – Duo or Trio (vocals, guitar, drums and backing vocals) playing contemporary pop primarily from 2000 onwards with a selection of earlier iconic pop artists. Repertoire includes Adele, Justin Timerlake, George Michael, Michael Jackson, Maroon5, Miley Cyrus and the like. Suited to: pubs & clubs for night or afternoon live music; corporates requiring lively music for staff events or client entertainment; private parties needing lively contemporary music

THE OUTLIERS | Iconic Australian Rock | Semi-Acoustic | Duo or Trio

Iconic Australian Rock with a full set of teeth and no tattoos. Duo or trio (male vocalists, guitars, drums) playing primarily iconic Australian rock with a mix of global rock artists. Repertoire includes: Cold Chisel, Paul Kelly, INXS, AC/DC, The Angels, Jet, Powerderfinger, Men at Work, Mental as Anything, Hunters & Collectors, Hoodoo Gurus etc. Suited to: Anyone wanting rock covers from primarily from 1980’s-1990’s with a distinct Australian feel but with a polished finish.
